| This drawing depicts the tree as it would have appeared at the turn of the century. It's great canopy, size and age has attracted admirers for literally centuries. Local legends relate that Indians and early settlers gathered under it's branches for treaty-signing "pow-wows". The tree can be visited thanks to Mrs. Alfred I. Dupont, who generously purchased this site and designated funds to preserve this massive and ageless tree for posterity. For a limited time the inspirational booklet about "Treaty Oak" illustrated by Brenda Mauney Councill and written by the late William C. Rivers will accompany your purchase of the Limited Edition Print. | ||
