This drawing tells the story of this prominent landmark capturing the essence of "Old Mandarin". Harriet Beecher Stowe was Mandarin's most famous resident, who helped raise funds to build the Community Club, which originally served as a Freedom's Bureau and later as a church and school. today the Community Club continues the legacy, proudly serving historic Mandarin.

This landmark built in 1911, is now the Walter Jones Museum and has been lovingly restored in detail. It served as the general store and post office until the 1960's.
